She was born Charmaine Shamiso “Sha Sha” Mpambiro but she goes by the Monique Sha Sha on the music scene.

Sha Sha Early Life
She was born in Mutare, Zimbabwe but she moved around a lot when her parents got separated. She mostly lived with her grandparents and aunts.
Sha Sha Career
Her music journey began after she joined her church choir. She began taking vocal and piano lessons as well.
As a teenager, one of her songs was played on one of the biggest radio stations in the country.
This caught the attention of songwriter and singer Audius Mtawarira who later on became her mentor.
Audius helped her to hone her sound and connected her to the likes of Brian Soko, Rouge and Priddy who later featured her on their songs.
She also crossed paths with DJ Maphorisa through her cab driver, they immediately began making music together. Sha Sha has also collaborated with Mlindo the Vocalist and Don Laka.
She got signed to DJ Maphorisa’s label Blaqboy Music in 2018. She released her debut EP titled Blossom in the year 2019.
She won the Best New International Act at the 2020 BET Awards.
