He was born in Hertfordshire but grew up in Elstree. A brother and a half-brother are his siblings. Julie and Eric Seig Philip raised him as their son.
Simon Cowell went to Radlett Preparatory School and Dover College, which is a private institution. He also completed his GCE in Sociology at Windsor Technical College.
He did menial jobs after school, including as a runner for the film The Shinnin in 980. He also worked at the EMI mailroom but left later. After his business attempts failed, he returned.
After being named a judge on Pop Idol in 2001, Cowell’s career took off.
