An Irvine police officer was contacted after the devices were found on Monday by a maintenance worker at Beckman High School in the Tustin Unified School District. The devices were hidden in the all-gender restroom that is located close to the school’s swimming pool.
Authorities assert that the devices captured many victims’ trips to the restroom. Investigators discovered that Siu Kong Sit, a 37-year-old instructor, placed the devices there.
The Santa Ana man was detained in the Orange County Jail for both breaking and entering and possessing child pornography in his possession after being apprehended at the school. Police are still looking for additional victims based on the data from the devices.
According to online court documents, his bond was set at $20,000. It wasn’t immediately clear if he had a lawyer who could speak on his behalf.
