Authorities reported that three individuals were hurt in a shooting that took place in the parking lot of an amusement park north of Chicago and sent guests running for cover.

According to the Gurnee Police Department, officers were called at 7:50 p.m. on Sunday after 911 calls reported gunfire at Six Flags Great America, which is located approximately 45 miles (72 kilometers) north of Chicago.

According to a statement from the police released on Facebook, “the gunshot… was not a random act and appeared to be a targeted crime that occurred outside the park.”

An initial inquiry by police led them to believe that a white sedan had pulled into the parking lot and was heading toward the park’s main entrance. Before driving away, somebody allegedly fired shots at another individual in the parking lot after getting out of the car.
