The accused entered a plea of guilty and the case was sent to the Tamale circuit court for hearing.

However, the defense attorney requested a psychiatric evaluation, which the court granted.

A report of the medical examination performed at the Pantang hospital was then provided to the court, but the judge rejected it.

The Tamale Teaching Hospital performed additional testing, which was then presented to the court.

The accused was given a seven-year prison term with hard labor by the presiding judge, his lord Alexander Oware, at today’s hearing, which was conducted in secret.
