A shooting incident occurred at a house party in St. Cloud on Sunday morning, as confirmed by police officials.

Two people were hurt after a St. Cloud home party descended into violence early on Sunday morning. When the St. Cloud Police Department arrived at the scene on 42nd Avenue South at 2:15 AM, they found an 18-year-old in the front yard suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Two cars that were trying to flee the scene were stopped by police in the interim. A 19-year-old male with an arm gunshot wound was discovered inside one. The two St. Cloud residents who were injured were treated and released, with the 18-year-old patient still in critical condition at CentraCare St. Cloud.

Investigators believe that a fight inside the home party was the reason for the shooting. A 17-year-old was then taken into custody outside the house. He is currently being charged with carrying a handgun without a permit, possessing a firearm without a serial number, and giving false information to police officers. The person has been taken to a juvenile correctional facility.

Meanwhile, a similar shooting incident occurred at El Cajon on Sunday. An 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old child were killed in a gang-related shooting during a wild house party, according to information released by El Cajon authorities on Sunday.

Lieutenant Will Guerin of the El Cajon Police Department stated, “It appears that the perpetrator may have singled out both victims for attack. The perpetrator fled quickly on foot and then stole a nearby automobile. The tragedy is believed to be linked to gang activity.”

On Saturday night, just before midnight, police received a report to the 700 block of Mahogany Drive. When they got there, one victim was in the street, and another was in the front yard of a house, according to Guerin.
