Steven Labat was Born in Montreal (Canada) in 1990 to a Lebanese family, he moved to Cairo (Egypt) with his parents when he was four years old. He discovered his vocation and was trained for the priesthood in Belgium over the years before moving to France.

On June 26 of this year, he has ordained a priest at St. Sulpice in Paris, and he was sent to Cairo for a year to study his rite of origin, the Melkite.

The Emmanuel Community, which was founded in Paris at the end of the twentieth century, is recognized by the Holy See as a public association of the faithful, bringing together priests, consecrated persons, and families.

It now has a presence in 60 countries and over 11,500 members, including 275 priests.

According to the Archdiocese of Paris’ Facebook page, “Steven was a fraternal, joyful, and missionary man.” We share his family’s, the young priests ordained with him, the Emmanuel Community, and the Paris Seminary’s grief.”

Steven Labat cause of death: How did Steven Labat die?

Steven Labat, a 32-year-old Emmanuel Community priest, was killed in an accident while on a trip to Sinai, Egypt. On May 9, the Archdiocese of Paris (France), where he was incardinated, confirmed his death.
