CBS’s 48 Hours features the story of Survivor producer Bruce Beresford-Redman who killed his wife, Mónica Burgos.

According to Wikipedia, Mónica was found dead on April 8, 2010. At that time, they were on a holiday in Mexico.

Reportedly, his spouse’s body was discovered in a sewer near the Moon Palace resort. The same day, Bruce was detailed and questioned by the police.

However, he was released the morning the next day. But, the officials made him clear that he wasn’t allowed to leave Mexico until the investigation was complete.

When the authorities inquired their British neighbors, they claimed that they heard the two arguing on April 4. After Monica’s murder, the police found Bruce’s body with scratches.

Despite the warning, Bruce left Mexico using his driving license as identification. On May 31, Mexico released an arrest warrant for his connection with his wife’s murder.

Bruce Beresford-Redman was arrested on November 16 for the murder of his wife.

Reportedly, he was apprehended by US marshals in Los Angeles. On February 8, 2012, he was extradited to Mexico.

Both the officials from Mexico and USA had enough evidence that Bruce had killed Mónica. There were his major reasons – to collect insurance money, to continue an extramarital affair, and to hold sole custody of their two children.

On March 12, 2015, Bruce was convicted of the killing. Judge Víctor Manuel Echeverría Tun sentenced him for 12 years.

Bruce Beresford-Redman is now back in his home in Los Angeles, Southern California.

The Cinemaholic reports that he is trying to get his life back on track. Well, he was spotted in public in September 2020 but didn’t speak much.

Reportedly, he was freed in September 2019. We can confirm that he served only 7 and a half years in prison, thanks to his good behavior.
