During the first four matches of the 2007-08 Regionalliga season, Ulreich was Stuttgart II’s first-choice goalkeeper, keeping two clean sheets. During the previous season, he appeared in 10 games and received two yellow cards.
He was elevated to the first team of VfB Stuttgart in January 2008. But he also took the field once more for the backup team. He made his first team appearance on February 9, 2008, in a 3-1 loss to Hertha BSC, and on February 16, 2008, he beat MSV Duisburg to earn his first win as the starting goalkeeper. Ulreich’s contract with VfB Stuttgart was extended from April 6th, 2010, to the summer of 2013. Ulreich extended his contract on January 20, 2012, through June 2017. Ulreich changed teams to Bayern Munich for the 2015–16 campaign. Since 1998, Ulreich had worked at Stuttgart.
