On the weekend, an 18-year-old guy named Oliver Johnston died after losing control and smashing into a tree in Thredbo.
He graduated from Shore School in 2021, according to principal Dr Timothy Petterson.
On Sunday about 11 a.m., skiers at Thredbo who were traveling by informed the ski patrol that someone had been harmed in an accident.
The teenager was carried to Thredbo Medical Centre and treated for his injuries, but he died later.
The Monaro police department is conducting an investigation to find out what might have happened.
