At NYCFC Academy, the 20-year-old began playing for the U-17s in 2017. Gray signed his first professional contract with NYCFC after becoming the club’s first native of the Bronx to play. Prior to that, he anchored the backline for the U-19 team as they became the first Club to capture consecutive U-19 American titles.
On November 26, 2019, Gray and the New York City FC came to terms on a Major League Soccer contract that would run through the 2020 campaign.
