Meunier, a Sainte-Ode native, began his playing career with a number of youth organizations, including RUS Saint-Ode, RUS Givry, and Standard Liège. Before being dismissed due to injury, he played for Liège for two seasons.
After being let go, Meunier stated that he felt impacted and briefly pondered giving up football before his mother talked him out of it. Meunier pleased the Virton management during a trial, and the team later signed him.
Meunier began playing professionally for Virton’s first group in the first half of 2009.
On January 31, 2009, he played in his first club match, a 1-1 tie with K.F.C. V.W. Hamme. After being demoted from the Second Division, Virton continued to play, making five appearances.
