Chrisley had real estate investments prior to entering the media industry. He had a deal with “Fannie Mae” that allowed him to turn around troubled properties and sell them again for a healthy profit.

Gene Ray Chrisley was born on May 9, 1935. Leanard A. and Allie Mae Childers, both of whom have passed away, were his parents. Gene Chrisley was in the US Army and had been there during the Korean War. Gene worked there for a long time before he retired. At age 77, cancer took his life. On July 11, 2012, he died at Emory University Hospital while his family was there.
