Bowie became famous after she won the silver medal in the 200 meters at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing, China. She also won a bronze medal as a member of the United States’ 4×100-meter relay team. In the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, Bowie won a bronze medal in the 100 meters, a silver medal in the 200 meters, and a gold medal as part of the U.S. women’s 4×100-meter relay team.

Tori Bowie was found dead at her residence by authorities, after they were contacted to check on her. They said that there is no evidence of foul play, this was stated according to the police officers, that went to her Bowman Drive house on Tuesday in the afternoon to “conduct a well-being check of a woman in her 30s, who had not been seen or heard from in several days.” Bowie, was located and identified by deputies after they had entered the house. According to the department’s statement, Bowie had been “found dead” inside.
