Everyone at the Wellington Phoenix has been shocked by the untimely loss of former captain Ulises Davila’s wife, Lily Pacheco.
In June of last year, Davila said his goodbyes to the Phoenix with a fantastic performance in their 3-0 win over his new team Macarthur.
He and Sydney FC’s Milos Ninkovic shared the A-prized League’s Johnny Warren Medal in 2020/21.
Pacheco died unexpectedly overnight on Monday, shocking the Phoenix and Australian A-League communities.
At the club’s awards, he and Lily Pacheco were named Macarthur Bulls player of the year.
Davila played with the Phoenix for two years before moving to the Macarthur Bulls of the Sydney A-League last year.

The diseases caused by Pacheco have yet to be discovered. In the coming days, an autopsy will undoubtedly reveal this. The cause of Pacheco’s death has yet to be disclosed.
