Valtteri Bottas was born in Nastola, Finland, on August 28, 1978, to his older sister Laura. Their parents are Rauno Bottas and Marianne Valimaa.

The 32-year-old driver has always been fascinated by auto racing. He started karting when he was six years old and has since won countless races.

Valtteri has been chosen for the Finnish National Karting Team as well.

On his Formula One debut in Canada, Bottas finished third behind Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel. Bottas competed in 77 races for the team, but he never won.

After dating Emilia Pikkarainen, a fellow Finn and Olympic swimmer, since 2010, Bottas married her on September 11, 2016.

The pair married at Helsinki’s St. John’s Church.

Bottas announced their separation and divorce on November 28, 2019, claiming “challenges my career and life circumstances present.”

Rauno Bottas and Marianne Välimaa have a son named Valtteri Bottas. Valtteri’s father, Rauno, owns and maintains a modest cleaning business.

His mother, Marianne, runs a funeral home.

Valtteri is the youngest of the family’s children, however he is not his parents’ sole kid.

His older sister is Laura Bottas.
