Verphy Kudi was found guilty of the manslaughter of Asiah Kudi, a 20-month-old baby left at her Brighton home in December 2019 as she celebrated her 18th birthday.
According to Lewes Crown Court, she went to London and Coventry and acted like a “carefree adolescent.”
Kudi was sentenced to nine years in prison despite having no known address.
Prosecutor Sally Howes QC told the court that CCTV footage from Kudi’s home showed she had left Asiah alone in the flat for five days, 21 hours, and 58 minutes.
Kudi flew from Brighton to London on December 5th to celebrate her birthday with her partner.
According to the court, she went to a concert two days later in Elephant and Castle, south-east London, where she had the DJ announce her birthday.
