Vicky White was a Lauderdale County Assistant Director of Corrections. She helped a capital murder suspect, Casey Cole White, who was in jail, escape.
The duo were captured in Indiana on Monday after more than a week-long manhunt. According to Wedding, they were spotted by the officers’ surveillance at an Evansville, Indiana, hotel on Monday, May 9, 2022.
They led the police on a car chase in a Cadillac. An official stated that their car was wrecked and Vicky White was hospitalized for injuries from a glaring self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Lauderdale County Sherrif Rick Singleton said, Vicky White was hospitalized after they were arrested by the authorities and died later Monday night.

Commander Deputy U.S. Marshal Chad Hunt told ABC News’ Good Morning America Tuesday that “when we were taking Casey White into custody, upon his surrender, he said, ‘help my wife, she just shot herself.'”
Coroner Steve Lockyear also asserted in a statement that Vicky White died at 7:06 p.m. local time. He also stated that an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Casey White is currently in police custody.
