Authorities say the manhunt for Casey and Vicky White has ended in an Indiana police chase after nearly two weeks on the run. Sheriff Rick Singleton of Lauderdale County said the chase ended in a wreck and he had no idea why they were in Indiana.
Vicky White was taken to the hospital with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Indiana authorities. Casey White surrendered to police, according to Singleton.
Vicky White died at Evansville Deaconess Midtown Hospital on Monday night, according to Vanderburgh County Coroner Steven W. Lockyear. Her autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
“This is one scenario I anticipated might happen, knowing the Vicky that we knew,” Singleton said in an interview with NewsNation. “I think what disturbed her more than the charges that she was facing coming back was the fact of coming back to face her family and friends.”
Singleton continued, “I think that was just as devastating as the charges.”
Sheriff Dave Wedding of Vanderburgh County said at a press conference that he had no idea what part of her body she had shot. He claimed they were pursued in a Cadillac and that the chase was brief.
