Victoria Lucy Esson is a goalkeeper who was born in New Zealand on March 6, 1991. She now plays for Rangers and is the goalkeeper for New Zealand in association football competitions at the international level.

When Esson was ten years old, he joined Halswell United and began playing football for the team. Esson was selected to be a part of the South Island Secondary Schoolgirls squad as well as the Mainland’s U-14 and U-16 teams while she was playing for Burnside High School. During her time there, she also became the team captain and competed in tournaments for other secondary schools.

In 2011, Esson became Texas Tech’s first-ever foreign football player in the school’s history after making the decision to attend Texas Tech. Esson is now the all-time leader at Georgia Tech for career shutouts, lifetime goals against, and single season and consecutive shutouts. He also set school records for a single season and consecutive shutouts.

In 2013, Esson set a new record for the number of shutouts in a single season in the Big 12 Conference by recording 15. During Esson’s time in goal at Tech, the team won 41 of their 62 games overall and tied six of those contests.

In 2014, Esson led Mainland Pride to victory in the National Women’s League, which is New Zealand’s premier women’s football competition. This accomplishment came while Esson served as the team’s captain.

Esson was signed by SC Sand in February 2022, shortly after the club’s first-string goalkeeper, Jasmin Pal, suffered an injury.

Esson signed for the Scottish team Rangers in the month of July 2022.
