The Virginia state attorney general Miles saw her controversial Facebook post from January 6, 2021, going viral on online platforms and quickly took the decision of letting go of her prestigious post.

Miles took the decision on Thursday. The aftermath of her controversial post showed the result year later when she felt the pressure and immediately resigned from the post of Deputy attorney general.

Monique Miles resigned from her position of Deputy General Attorney after Jan 6, 2021, Facebook post went viral where she applauded the protesters.

Her post seems to have falsely claimed the winner of the 2020 presidential election with the post reading as ‘News Flash: Patriots have stormed the Capitol. No Surprise. The deep state has awoken the sleeping giant. Patriots are not taking this lying down. We are awake, ready and will fight for our rights by any means necessary’.

Miles had re-tweeted the number of the pro-Trump post following the riot that took place on Jan 6, 2021.

Virginia attorney general’s office revealed that they became aware of the post after The Washington Post shared the screenshots on Thursday. She gave her resignation on the same day.
