Ramaswamy graduated from Cincinnati’s St. Xavier High School in 2003. He had been a nationally recognised junior tennis player and the class valedictorian.’
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in biology from Harvard College in 2007 and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He was a self-assured libertarian at Harvard, and resided in Kirkland House, which he served as president of the Harvard Political Union. He worked as an intern first for the investment firm Goldman Sachs and then for the hedge fund Amaranth Advisors.
Ramaswamy got a biology degree from Harvard College before earning a law degree from Yale. After serving as an investing partner at a hedge fund, Ramaswamy started the biopharmaceutical business Roivant Sciences in 2014.
He has criticised Big Tech and critical race theory since 2020 and published and spoken out against stakeholder theory, which holds that a company’s managers should be motivated by the morals and values of its stakeholders. Ramaswamy co-founded and has held the position of executive chairman of Strive Asset Management since leaving Roivant in 2021.
