Last year marked ten years since Vodafone started operating in the country.

Ten years of displaying exemplary leadership in telecommunications, support for small and medium scale enterprises, top – notch customer care delivery, brand social media engagement and corporate social responsibility.

While Vodafone Ghana has over the years provided competitive voice and data services for Ghanaians, the position of the Chief Executive Officer has always been occupied by a foreigner.

The current CEO who will be leaving this April, Yolanda Cuba, is South African.

However, yesterday, it was reported that for the first time in their decade of operating in the country, a Ghanaian has been given the opportunity to head the multi-national corporation

Patricia Obo-Nai, who is already a member of the Vodafone Ghana Executive Committee is the first Ghanaian to be appointed CEO of Vodafone Ghana.

Many have reflected on her appointment as a nod to Ghanaian women who are brainy, smart and drop-dead gorgeous

This comes as an exciting news and social media users have also expressed their joy over it.
