Bob Maguire was born Robert John Maguire on 14 September 1934 in Thornbury, Victoria in Australia to Anne McLoughlin and James Maguire. Father Bob, as he was widely known, was a very respected and highly reputable Roman Catholic Priest in Victoria.
Having completed his degree in theology at Corpus Christi College, Father Bob was ordained a Roman Catholic Priest on 24 July 1960 and forcefully retired in 2012. Father Bob was also the Parish Priest of Sts. Peter and Paul’s Church is located in South Melbourne, Australia.
Father Bob also served as a radio presenter at Triple J radio and as Chaplain of the Australian Army Reserve. Father Bob was honored with Reserve Force Decoration, National Medal, Me! Her of the Order of Australia, Victorian of the Year, and others.
Father Bob died at the age of 88 years at the Cabrini Hospital in Melbourne on 19 April 2023.
