Alexia Putellas Segura (born 4 February 1994) is a Spanish professional footballer who currently captains Primera División club Barcelona as well as the Spain national team. Alexia is widely regarded as the best contemporary female footballer in the world, and one of the greatest of all time, having won every major club and individual award available to a European player by 2022. Putellas began playing for Barcelona in 2012, having spent the majority of her youth career with Espanyol. Alexia has won one UEFA Women’s Champions League title, one Copa de la Reina, six league titles, and seven Copas de la Reina since joining Barcelona. Alexia was crucial to Barcelona’s success in the 2020–21 campaign, which saw them capture the continental treble and UEFA Women’s Champions League for the first time in club history.

Putellas later went on to win the Best FIFA Women’s Player Award, the Ballon d’Or Féminin, and the UEFA Women’s Player of the Year Award in 2021, making history by becoming the first player to win all three awards in the same calendar year.
