Haack was inducted into the Dowling Catholic High School/St. Joseph Academy Athletic Hall of Fame on September 14, 2018, in honour of his stellar high school career.

Haack played collegiate football while attending Arizona State from 2013 to 2016. In the 2013 season, Matt Haack shared the punting duties with Alex Garoutte, Dom Vizzare, and Taylor Kelly.
