At a very young age, Anisimova began playing tennis, and her father Konstantin has been teaching her ever since.
Her older sister is a successful athlete as well. When Anisimova was a little child, her parents decided to move to Florida in order to give their children greater training opportunities.
In her junior year, Anisimova rose to No. 2 in the world. Along with winning the girls’ singles US Open championship in 2017, she also won two further Grade-A titles.
She also became the first American to reach the final of the girls’ singles competition at the French Open in 14 years.
Anisimova gained notoriety on the WTA Tour at the 2018 Indian Wells Open, defeating Petra Kvitová at 16 to earn her maiden top-10 triumph. At the Copa Colsanitas in April 2019, she won her maiden WTA championship.
