A politician from New Zealand named Georgina Beyer was born in November 1957. From 1999 to 2007, Beyer, who was the first openly transgender politician in her nation, was involved in politics. Beyer represented the Labour Party in the New Zealand Parliament.

Before entering politics, Beyer worked as a sex worker and drag queen in her native country. Beyer has recently fought for LGBTQI rights and been a vocal activist. In recognition of his contributions to the rainbow community, Beyer was made a member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2020.

What Did Georgina Beyer Die From?

Beyer probably succumbed to a deteriorating medical condition. In fact, Beyer received a diagnosis of end-stage renal failure in 2013. Beyer required dialysis four times a day, seven days a week, from the time of the 2014 election until she underwent a transplant in 2017.

At the age of 65, Beyer passed away at Wellington’s Mary Potter Hospice on March 6, 2023. Although neither her family nor team have released a statement to explain how she passed away, the most likely cause is her deteriorating health.
