Penelope Mary Mordaunt was born on March 4, 1973, and is most commonly referred to by her nickname, Penny Mordaunt. She is a British who has held the positions of Leader of the House of Commons and Lord President of the Council since September 2022.

Since May 2010, Mordaunt has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency of Portsmouth North, for which she is affiliated with the Conservative Party. After having served in Theresa May’s cabinet as Secretary of State for International Development from 2017 until 2019, and as Secretary of State for Defence from May until July 2019, Mordaunt was promoted to the position of junior minister under the leadership of Boris Johnson.
