Nupur Sharma’s statements on Prophet Mohammad: The Arab world has slammed the Modi government after Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal, both now suspended BJP spokespersons, made offensive remarks about Prophet Mohammad.
Qatar, Kuwait, and Iran convened their respective Indian embassies on Sunday to discuss the situation, emphasizing the necessity of respecting all religious views.
The Indian envoys informed them that the tweets and remarks in no way represent the views of the Indian government and that serious action had already been taken against party leaders.
The BJP suspended Nupur Sharma, its national spokesperson, and expelled Naveen Kumar Jindal, its Delhi media head, on Sunday, as the row over their alleged derogatory remarks about the Prophet erupted into protests from Muslim countries.
Action against the aforementioned leaders, however, has not suppressed voices from Muslim-majority countries and their media outlets.
Saudi Arabian, Pakistani, Turkish, and other Muslim newspapers reacted angrily to Nupur Sharma’s remarks against Prophet Mohammad.
