He was a robotics scientist who developed motor neuron disease.
His robotics experience and expertise were used in a documentary called The Human Cyborg which made him more popular.
Aside from being the first human cyborg, he also became the first person to have received a doctorate honour from the robotics department of a British University.
In his personal life, he was gay and was married to Francis Scott-Morgan, a scientist as well.
The two men were the first gay people to have legally married in Great Britain.
What happened to Peter Scott-Morgan?
After being diagnosed with a motor neurone disease in 2017, Peter Scott-Morgan attempted to go entirely robotic to lengthen his life when he was told he only had two years to live.
Dr. Scott-Morgan created a life-like avatar, had a voice box fitted with his own recorded speech, employed eye-tracking technology to handle computers, and purchased a top-of-the-line wheelchair that allowed him to stand and lie flat.
Unfortunately, he died at the age of 64 after on June 15, 2022.
