Vincent Edward Scully, well known by his stage name Vin Scully, was a well-known American sportscaster. His 67 seasons of game calling for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball, which he began in 1950 and finished in 2016, were the main reason for his popularity.

 

In the history of professional sports, Vin Scully’s career is regarded as having the longest of any broadcaster who has worked with a single club. With a 2 year disparity, Tommy Lasorda was his closest competitor in terms of the total number of years he spent working for the Dodgers.

In 2016, when Vin Scully turned 88, he ended his record-breaking career as the Dodgers’ play-by-play commentator and retired from active duty.

 

What Illness Did Vin Scully Have?

On August 2, 2022, legendary sportscaster Vincent Edward Scully—who was 94 at the time of his unexpected death—joined the afterlife. Although the sports star has not yet been linked to any illnesses or health problems, we may infer from his age that Scully passed away naturally.
