Bill Turnbull, a TV host and journalist, passed away at the age of 66, according to his family. His broadcasting career began in 1978 at Radio Clyde in Scotland. He then joined the BBC in 1986 as a reporter for the Today show and two years later transitioned to reporting for BBC Breakfast Time. Turnbull joined BBC News as a reporter in 1990, covering important topics including the OJ Simpson trial and the Monica Lewinsky affair from more than 30 different nations.
The broadcaster disclosed in March 2018 that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer in November. He described his treatment in the Staying Alive program on Channel 4 at the time.
