Jorge “Cacho” Fontana (born April 23, 1932 – July 5, 2022) was an Argentine radio and television personality.
Born in the Barracas district of Buenos Aires, Norbert Parase was the only child of Nieves Philgeilas and Antonio Parase.
He started his career in show business at the age of 16. His friend and colleague Jorge Logaro, who also worked part-time as a stage presenter, invited him to do the same at Salon Argentino on Corrientes Avenue.
The company hired a parase to host their touring show, and the young man adopted his stage name: Jorge “Cacho” Fontana.
He made his radio debut in Argentina in 1950.
He was hired at Radio del Pueblo as an announcer for Liberito’s Penha de Tango after he happened to meet radio host Roberto Gonzalez Libero (“Riverit”) at Hulacan Stadium.
He then worked with Julio Cesar Burton, the host of the radio theater, as a sports writer for the Chacarita Juniors.
He replaced Carlos Carella, who embarked on a film career in the popular review El Chantecler, with Argentine comedy giants Tita Merello and Luis Sandrini on behalf of host Jaime Font Saravia at El Relámpago (“The Thunderbolt”).
Directed by Miguel Coronat Pass, where Melero and Sandrini starred. CoronattoPaz later hired Fontana forever. His first marriage to Draparma ended two years later. They had a daughter.
