As an actor, he began his career with television commercials and then started picking up minor roles in films. He then proceeded into picking up roles in cinema, theatre and television acts. He had starred in a couple of films and telenovelas. Furthermore, he is well known for Without Compassion, a 1994 film.
Some of the films he had appeared in include Ultra Warrior, Report on Death, Crossing a Shadow among others.

Diego Bertie passed away on August 5, 2022 in Miraflores, Lima, Peru. The news of his sudden death was announced by the Peruvian Ministry of Culture on their Twitter page.
According to reports, Diego Bertie fell from the 14th level of an apartment in Miraflores. He was rushed to a nearby clinic where he eventually died.
Bertie was survived by his daughter, Aissa Bertie, whom he had with his former wife, Viviana Monge.
