A red Muppet monster named Elmo appears on Sesame Street, a children’s television program that has been on PBS and HBO for many years. He is a red monster with fur that speaks in a falsetto and has illeism. He also hosts “Elmo’s World,” the final five-minute part of Sesame Street before 2017, and is geared toward young children. He was most frequently puppeteered by Kevin Clash, although Ryan Dillon has taken over after Clash’s resignation in late 2012.
Elmo has also made an appearance in The Furchester Hotel with Cookie Monster, where he is staying for a lengthy period of time due to his fascination with the Furchester Hotel. Funella Furchester’s brother Louie is his father.
