Quinn was born in Worcester, Massachusetts. He graduated from Saint John’s High School in 1983 and Northwestern University with a degree in economics in 1987. In 1988, he began his career.

On the Nationwide Tour, formerly known as the Ben Hogan Tour, Quinn spent his first full season of competition in 1991, making 13 of 25 cuts.

He placed eighth at Q-School later that year, earning a spot on the PGA Tour for 1992.

In 1992, he barely made six of the 18 cuts, and he was stripped of his Tour card for 1993.

From 1993 through 1997, Quinn alternated between the PGA and Nationwide Tours before concentrating mostly on the Nationwide Tour.

Quinn won the Nike Dakota Dunes Open in a playoff in 1999, giving him his first victory on a major tour.

He finished the season with three top-10 finishes, but it was not enough to get a 2000 PGA Tour card.

Quinn’s victory in the Buy.com Florida Classic marked his first start of the year 2000, but it was also his lone top 10 finish.

He earned $125,000 over the course of the entire season. Quinn saw a halt in his game following his victory in 2000.

He competed in more than 300 events between 2002 and mid-2009, however, he only managed 17 top-10 finishes while playing.
