Hana Zagorová (September 6, 1946 – August 26, 2022) was a Czech singer-songwriter, actor, and television host who began recording music in 1964. She is regarded as one of the most well-known Czech singers. Between 1977 and 1985, she received the national Zlat slavk music award nine times, the second most in the award’s history behind Lucie Blá, who won the successor award, esk slavk, thirteen times.

Zagorová rose to prominence in the 1963 singing competition Hledáme nové talenty (Seeking New Talent), where she was supported by Gustav Brom’s orchestra. She studied acting at the Janáek Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno from 1964 to 1968 and graduated in 1968. She recorded her first song, “Pr jsem zraná” (They Say I’m Debauched), in 1968. She began appearing on television and performing with the band Flamingo in the late 1960s.

She also sang with the Sodoma-Gomorrah ensemble (Zagorová, Ji tdro, Viktor Sodoma) and began working with the Václav Zahradnk Orchestra, with whom she released her first album Bludika (1970). “Bludika Julie,” one of her best singles, was included on the album.

Although it has not been officially confirmed, her cause of death has been traced to a problem she got in her blood during the COVID-19 pandemic.
