What is Lal Singh Chaddha story?
A man with a low IQ named Laal Singh Chaddha is riding in a train when he begins to relate his story to another passenger while providing background information about current events in India. As other passengers find the story to be intriguing, they join in.
He was born during the Indo-Pak War, where his grandfather was a martyr; as a result, he was given the name of the martyr. Having a low IQ, no school wants to admit him, but eventually a priest of a Catholic school does so after seeing the fighting spirit in his mother. He makes friends with and bonds well with Roopa Dsouza, a classmate whose father beat her mother to death for money.
When Roopa is a child, she falls in love with Lal, the man who proposed to her when she was still a child. Years later, Lal and Roopa are still romantically involved and they both attend the same college. While Lal enlists in the Indian army, Roopa’s goal is to move to Mumbai and become an actress.
When Lal first joins the army, he meets Bala. The two plan to start a business together, but Bala is killed in battle. After his military service, Lal makes the decision to realize Bala’s dream and launches the business. Lal has a successful life and business, but he still has a place for Roopa.
