In 2012, Fulmer played for the Savannah Sand Gnats and started 21 games. He finished the year with a 7-6 record, 2.74 ERA, 101 strikeouts, and 108 and a third innings worked. By Baseball America’s standards, Fulmer entered the 2013 season as the Mets’ seventh-best prospect.

He only pitched in nine games that season between the rookie league Gulf Coast Mets and the class A advanced St. Lucie Mets due to injury.
