Hussle burst onto the West Coast hip hop scene in the mid-2000s after independently releasing his debut mixtape Slauson Boy Volume 1. The mixtape performed well locally.

Hussle launched the Marathon Clothing store, which he co-founded with partners Carless, the CEO of the agency Karen Civil, and his brother Samiel Asghedom in 2017 outside of music.

What is Nipsey Hussle’s legacy?

Because of Hussle’s hard labor as a CD slinger, he earned the nickname “Hustle,” which is a play on the name of a well-known comedian from the 1970s. Mixtapes and underground releases were his primary tools for building a loyal audience over the course of several years. He achieved mainstream success with his debut record for a big label and went on to win two posthumous Grammy Awards in the year 2020.

The remembrance of the significant legacy that Hussle left behind is still fresh in the minds of a lot of people, just as the tagline “The Marathon Continues,” which he made famous.
