The Cambridges have lovingly let us in on Prince Louis Arthur Charles’ birthday celebrations with some heart-melting beach photographs captured by, as always, his mother, the Duchess of Cambridge.

Louis’ name was revealed four days after his birth on April 27, 2018, and it’s a name with a lot of meaning: it’s one of Prince William’s three middle names, and it was most likely chosen in honour of Prince Charles’ mentor Lord Louis Mountbatten, who was assassinated in an IRA bombing three years before William was born.

Prince George, Louis’ older brother, also bears the name and uses it as one of his two middle names.

What is Prince Louis name and title?

His actual title name is His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge, however, he only possesses that name and title because of his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

A few years before Louis’ birth, the monarch revised the royal restrictions for him and his brother.

According to the site, he “laid forth new guidelines on which royals were allowed to have titles—and who was too far down the line of succession to qualify for one.”

“He decreed that all of the sovereign’s children, as well as any grandchildren born through the male line, would automatically be Princes or Princesses.” Great-grandchildren, on the other hand, were left off the list.”
