Brett Michael Kavanaugh was born on February 12, 1965, in Washington DC, USA. He completed Yale University where he studied history, later attended Yale Law School and graduated.

What is the background of Supreme Court Chief Justice Brett Kavanaugh?

After graduating as a lawyer, he started serving as a law clerk under Judge Ken Starr. He also served as a law clerk at the US Court of Appeals for the third circuit, under Judge Walter King Stapleton from 1990 to 1991.

He again worked as a law clerk under Justice Anthony Kennedy at the Supreme court. From the supreme court clerkship, Brett worked for Ken Starr as an associate counsel till 1997.

In the year 2000, Brett joined the legal team of George white bush. This legal team tried to stop the balloting in Florida.

In the year 2003, Brety was nominated by George W. Bush to the US Courts of appeals for the District of Columbian circuit even though his nomination was delayed because Democratic senators accuse Brett of being too partisan.

But the US Bar Association after three years declared Brett more qualified for the nomination.

In 2018, Brett was appointed by Donald Trump and sworn in as associate justice to succeed Justice Anthony Kennedy.
