Ashely and a group of researchers were in a distant area of Congo, an African country. Ashley Judd fell on a log in the Congo’s rainforest. Her leg was broken in four places after she was hurt.
She was unable to find her way out of the rainforest to the camp but was rescued and evacuated just in time. Her leg had been without blood for several hours and she required a transfusion right away.
Ashley can now stand on her leg and conduct other tasks such as walking and basic exercises after numerous rounds of treatment.
