Among his many honours, Rushdie has received the Hans Christian Andersen Literature Award, the Golden PEN Award, the European Union’s Aristeion Prize for Literature, the Write of the Year Award from Germany, and the Harvard University Award for Outstanding Lifetime Achievement in Cultural Humanism.
