Ahmed Salman Rushdie is American – British Indian born novelist. He was born in Bombay, British India now known as Mumbai in India on June 19, 1947. He is a writer and a professor.
He attended school at Cathedral and John Connon School and then moved India to England to attend Rugby School. He then moved to King’s College Cambridge.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts.
He got married to four women. They were Clarissa Laurd (married in 1988 and divorced in 1987), Marianne Wiggins, Elizabeth West and Padma Lakshmi.
He has two children. He was from a Liberal Muslim family, but now he does not believe in any religion (atheist).
Rushdie was attacked by a man during an occasion in New York on August 12, 2022. He got stabbed several times when he was about to give a lecture.
