Stuart Woods was born in Manchester, Georgia, on January 9, 1938, in the southern state of Georgia. A former felon recommended to Stuart’s father at the age of two that he could be better at ease in another state because of his alleged involvement in the break-in of a Royal Crown Cola bottling facility. Thus, Stuart was forced to grow up without his father, who abandoned him at the age of 2.

 

It just so happened that his mother played the organ at the church. His father had served time in prison. Having chosen to make his home in California, Stuart only saw him twice more until dad died away in 1959, the year Stuart graduated from college.
