As the leading scorer in the Soviet Top League in 1962, Mikhail Mustygin, as he was more commonly called, was praised for his feat. In the 1967 Soviet Top League, he totalled 17 goals with 19 goals scored.
Mustygin finished with a bronze medal with Dinamo Minsk in the Soviet Top League in 1963. He was named among the top 33 players for both 1963 and 1967.
Mustygin began his professional playing career with FC Avangard Kolomna from 1955 until 1956. He made his final appearance in the Dinamo-2-Minsk play in 1977. But Mustygin passed away at the age of 85. On January 27, 2023, he left for an unspecified reason.
