A close friend of Baton Rouge musician NBA YoungBoy was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the 2017 shooting death of rival local rapper Gee Money.
Deandre Fields, also known as Ddwag, is accused of killing Garrett Burton, better known by his stage name Gee Money, in the parking lot of Dallas Drive in Baton Rouge. The 26-year-old committed the offence in New Roads in September 2017.
In connection with the murder of Burton, a TBG (Top Boy Gorilla) group member, Fields was incarcerated in June 2019. However, NBA YoungBoy has long called for his release.
NBA Ddawg and YoungBoy are close buddies. The two also appeared in a ton of pictures and movies that were uploaded online before Ddawg went to jail. Ddawg was accused of manslaughter and second-degree assault in 2019. In 2020, he also resisted a police officer with violence.
When does Ddawg get out of jail?
When Ddawg will be released from prison is unclear. While some reports state that he would be released in September 2022, others contend that he was already released when he was first caught, and yet other reports are unclear.
