He continued to play while at Coleraine Academical Institution, but it was in college that he really made his impact.

He has been a member of Rathmore Golf Club since he was eight or nine years old. Uel Loughery, his uncle, coached him at the golf club. He played senior cup for Rathmore when he was 14 years old.

He went to Coleraine’s Academical Institution when he was a teenager. After that, he went to Queen’s University in Belfast to study engineering.

Where did Graeme McDowell go to college?

He went to the University of Alabama at Birmingham for college, where he played golf until the spring of 2002. He won six of twelve college competitions and the Haskins Award during his senior year with the Blazers in 2002.

The Haskins Trophy is presented to the best collegiate golfer in the United States.
